Extended Family Project is a “walk the walk” approach to poverty. Each Extended Family is comprised of an individual or family working to get out of poverty, and 2-3 volunteers that support the participants as they take the necessary steps. The teams are focused on interpersonal relationships and moving toward the realization of worthwhile goals, while the strengths and interests of all members of the team are encouraged and developed. Some of the areas our volunteers can help with are access to recreational activities for children, and adults; Education and training; Financial planning and budgeting; Housing and moves; Physical, emotional, mental wellbeing; and Employment.
